11 selected for Big Ten leadership programs

The Executive Vice Chancellor’s Office has announced its annual selection of faculty and executive-level professional staff who will attend two Big Ten Academic Alliance leadership programs this year.

Academic Leadership Program

  • Renee Batman , Assistant Vice Chancellor and Chief Administrative Officer, Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor

  • Rick Bevins, Chancellor’s Professor and Chair, Department of Psychology

  • Megan Elliott, Founding Director, Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts

  • Martha Mamo, John E. Weaver Professor and Department Head, Agronomy and Horticulture

  • Angela K. Pannier Professor of Biological Systems Engineering

  • Will Thomas, Professor of History, John and Catherine Angle Chair in the Humanities

Fellows will attend a series of three conferences and on-campus events throughout the academic year learning about leadership and a broad range of topics, including community engagement, diversity and inclusion, freedom of expression, challenging conversations, mental health, student success and the social value of higher education.

Department Executive Officers Program

  • Lindsey Bahe, Associate Professor and Director, Interior Design Program

  • Michael Herman, Professor and Director, School of Biological Sciences

  • Sophia Perdikaris, Professor and Chair, Department of Anthropology

  • Michael Scheel, Professor and Chair, Department of Educational Psychology

  • Francisco Souto, Professor and Director, School of Art, Art History and Design

Fellows will attend a three-day conference learning about leadership at a departmental level, including unique perspectives and challenges regarding faculty development, performance, communication, conflict resolution, time management and mentoring.
