11.4% positivity rate reported among students, faculty, staff

Weekly testing update (Jan. 14-20)

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln reported 2,011 positive cases of COVID-19 during the most recent week of data (Jan. 14-20).

In that same span, 17,710 tests were completed on students, faculty and staff. The positivity rate during the week was 11.4%.

Tests are conducted through the university’s saliva-based reentry testing program, the University Health Center and off-campus medical facilities.

Since the university started COVID-19 testing on Aug. 15, 2020, 8,312 positive cases have been recorded out of 293,187 tests, for a positivity rate of 2.38%.

This report is generated weekly and will be presented in Nebraska Today every Monday through the spring semester. Data is gathered from the university’s COVID-19 dashboard, which is tracking case and test totals daily. All COVID-19 testing information is provided to the university from the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.
