Terrence Foster, professor of construction engineering, was inducted into the Omaha Central High School Hall of Fame during an Oct. 6 ceremony. A former associate director of the Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction, Foster retired in the spring after 25 years with the university. Jeffrey Day, professor of architecture, earned two American Institute of Architects honors for work done through his architectural firm Min | Day. Presented Sept. 29 at the institute’s Excellence in Design Gala, Day’s honors included an honor award in the architecture category for a “Blue Barn Theatre and Box Car 10” project, and a merit award in the unbuilt architecture category for the “Hexad” project. The Blue Barn Theatre project established a new arts hub near downtown Omaha. Hexad is a caretaker’s house for a private estate in Lincoln. For more information on the honors, click here.
Matt Waite, professor of practice in news-editorial, will be inducted into the Nebraska Press Hall of Fame during an Oct. 21 ceremony at the Nebraska Club in Lincoln. Waite is one of four journalists to receiving the honor this year. Read more about Waite and his work here.
