The Nebraska Alumni Association and Lincoln’s Zipline Brewing Company have created a collaborative beer designed by and for University of Nebraska alumni.
The beer, an American lager, will be called “Dear Old Nebraska Brew” in a nod to the school’s traditional fight song “Dear Old Nebraska U.” It will be available initially on draft at the Champions Club and available for retail purchase in other locations around the state this fall. Zipline will donate a dollar from every case sold to support Nebraska alumni engagement programs.
“This is one of the most exciting opportunities we’ve ever had as a company,” said Marcus Powers, a Zipline founder and University of Nebraska–Lincoln alumnus. “Two of our three owners are Nebraska alumni, and we’ve always had a great relationship with the Alumni Association. We like to stay close to our roots, and as an alum, myself, I am extremely proud to produce a beer to support all the great work the Alumni Association does to promote the University of Nebraska.”
Shelly Zaborowski, executive direction of the Nebraska Alumni Association, said the organization is thrilled the collaboration and opportunity to offer a custom craft brew to alumni.
“It was very important to us that we work with a true Husker on this project,” Zaborowski said. “We hope to see it available at all alumni events in the Zipline distribution territory, and we’re especially grateful for Zipline’s support of our alumni engagement opportunities.
