Archives and Special Collections hosting Husker History event Oct. 3

Time travel through Husker history with University Libraries' Archives and Special Collections from 3 to 5 p.m. in the lower level of Love Library South. The event is part of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's homecoming activities.

All are welcome at the free event, which will feature recently acquired or donated materials. Activities will include a selfie station with props featuring Husker mascots and icons and a time-traveling game with archival photos.

Please RSVP to help organizers prepare. Refreshments will be provided.

The faculty and staff of the Archives and Special Collections are excited to host this event during homecoming.

“Many new treasures have been added, and we thought homecoming was a great time to celebrate these treasures coming home to our collections and to Nebraska,” said Melanie Griffin, chair of Archives and Special Collections.

Football memorabilia will be on display along with materials from:

  • Husker sports highlights, including materials from Bob Devaney, head football coach (1962-1972) and director of athletics (1967-1993), and women’s volleyball
  • Willa Cather, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Husker icon (UNL 1895)
  • Additional poets and authors, including Nebraska native Weldon Kees and African American poet Ella Robinson
  • Women’s and LGBTQ centers at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln

Please RSVP by Sept. 30.
