Graduate students in the Master of Fine Arts program in the Department of Art and Art History will host an Open Studios event, 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13. Admission is free and open to the public.
Open Studios is an opportunity for the public to explore the creative studios of artists in the MFA program, who are working in ceramics, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and social practice. Visitors will have the chance to see developing artworks in progress, to ask questions about processes and ideas and to make personal connections with artists whose work moves them.
Refreshments will be served.
Raffle tickets will be sold for artworks donated by MFA candidates, which raises funds for the upcoming thesis exhibits in the spring. Raffle tickets are sold for $1 each or six for $5. The raffle will end at 7:45 p.m. on the evening of the event. Winners need not be present to win.
Artist studios are located in Richards Hall and Woods Art Building on UNL’s city campus. Richards Hall in located at the corner of Stadium Dr and T St. Woods Art Building is located just southeast of Richards, next to the Sheldon Museum of Art.
