Art students put their creativity — and business skills — to the test outside the Nebraska Union.
As part of a new University of Nebraska–Lincoln class, Huskers set up pop-up activities to engage with the campus community. Students sold stickers, offered pumpkin painting and even filmed affirmations — all designed to practice real-world business strategies.
“It’s always great to learn firsthand what works and what doesn’t instead of just listening to lectures,” said Jen Landis, assistant professor of practice in the School of Art, Art History and Design. “It’s good to think outside your own little bubble, connect with other people and work together to come up with something you can all do.”
The new course focuses on helping students build the business skills they’ll need for their future careers.
