Becker, Clinton present works by American composers

Cellist Karen Becker and pianist Mark Clinton will present works by two American composers at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in Westbrook Recital Hall.

Becker will perform John Corigliano’s “Fancy On A Bach Air” for cello solo, followed by Becker and Clinton playing the “Sonata for Cello and Piano” by Robert Muczynski. The program will conclude with the “Sonata in F Major, Op. 99” of Johannes Brahms.

Becker, professor of cello, is the principal cellist of Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra and director of the UNL/Lincoln Public Schools String Project. Clinton is a professor of piano and head of the keyboard area.

Admission is free and open to the public.
