Becker's retirement cello-bration is March 29

Karen Becker, who will retire this semester after a combined 40 years of teaching. Her retirement celebration is March 29.

The Glenn Korff School of Music will present Karen Becker and Friends: A Cello-bration at 3 p.m. March 29 in Kimball Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The event will celebrate Becker, professor of cello, and her combined 40 years of teaching as she gears up for retirement from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. This special concert brings together more than 40 cellists for the concert finale and features cello quartets with many of her former students. 

Becker’s career has taken her around the world as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. She has toured regularly as a soloist and chamber musician, particularly as cellist of the Concordia String Trio.
