The UNL Jazz Orchestra is teaming up with the UNL Big Band for an end-of-the-semester concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in Kimball Recital Hall.
The repertoire will pay tribute to the great big bands in jazz history with music by Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, Count Basi, Glenn Miller, Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Stan Keaton, Thad Jones and Maria Schneider.
Featured guest artists are Bob Kruger on trumpet, Ed Love on clarinet, Dean Haist on trumpet. Anthony Bushard, associate professor of music, will serve as master of ceremonies.
The UNL Jazz Orchestra is directed by Paul Haar, associate professor of music. The UNL Big Band is directed by Patrick Brown.
Tickets are $5 general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens. The performance will be shown live online.
