Chancellor Ronnie Green talks with Benjamin Janssen, a junior, plant pathology major from Marquette, Nebraska, by the Starbucks in the Nebraska East Union Starbucks on Feb. 16. Janssen said meeting the chancellor was on his bucket list for things to achieve while at Nebraska U.
The chance encounter was made possible through Glow Big Red, a 24-hour giving campaign held for the fourth year as part of the university's Charter Day celebration. To help encourage Huskers to give to the campaign, Green provided free coffee and an opportunity to chat at Starbucks locations in the Nebraska Unions.
The university's Charter Day — the day the charter was signed, officially forming the institution — is Feb. 15. Created in 1869, this is the university's 153rd year of serving Nebraska, nation and the world.
