Campus, community celebrating Poetry Week

In recognition of Poetry Week, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of English and Creative Writing Program are partnering with community organizations and businesses to host a series of events Sept. 29 through Oct. 7.

The week kicks off with “Poetry in the Galleries,” at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Sheldon Art Museum, featuring readings of original poetry by graduate students enrolled in a writing seminar led by Kwame Dawes, George W. Holmes Distinguished Professor of English, and Glenna Luschei Editor of Prairie Schooner.

African Poetry Book Fund + Prairie Schooner Book Fair, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Oct. 5, Andrews Hall Bailey Library (room 229). A special book signing by APBF chapbook authors and doctoral students Tryphena Yeboah and Rasaq Malik, 1:30-3 p.m.
