Local health officials are preparing to complete inoculation of the education sector, including all University of Nebraska–Lincoln employees, this week.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department has issued email notifications regarding upcoming vaccination clinics on March 18-19 to all university employees who registered previously and have not yet been vaccinated. The email notifications come from the local health department email account, health@lincoln.ne.gov. The clinics are only open to employees and not family members.

Any employee — including all faculty, instructors, teaching assistants, staff and student workers — are eligible to be vaccinated through Phase 1B in the state’s COVID-19 vaccination plan.

Employees who have not been contacted about participating in a vaccination clinic should contact the university’s COVID-19 hotline by sending email to covid19@unl.edu by noon March 17. Messages should include name, date of birth and email address. A response email will include a link to complete vaccine registry.

Greater vaccine availability has increased the pace of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department’s COVID-19 vaccination clinics. University employees who do not register for vaccination through Phase 1B availability will likely have to wait until vaccine is offered based on ages in Phase 2A (ages 50 to 64) and Phase 2B (ages 16 to 49).
