The Nebraska women’s basketball team will try to stretch the Big Ten’s longest home winning streak to 16 games when the Huskers take on the No. 12 Ohio State Buckeyes Jan. 26 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Huskers, who are riding a five-game overall winning streak after the 91-60 win over Wisconsin Jan. 20, are celebrating 50 years of Nebraska women’s basketball. Faculty and Staff are invited to join in the celebration to help pack PBA against the Buckeyes. The Jan. 26 game with Ohio State is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip-off. Staff and faculty can purchase discounted tickets for the matchup online.
Nebraska enters the weekend at 15-4 overall and 6-2 in the Big Ten with senior Alexis Markowski leading the Big Red inside. The three-time All-Big Ten center has joined All-American Jordan Hooper as one of just two players in school history to achieve the combined career milestones of 1,600 points and 1,100 rebounds. Markowski, who is a candidate for the Lisa Leslie Award as the national center of the year, needs just three rebounds to climb to the No. 2 spot on Nebraska’s all-time rebound list.
Reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Week Britt Prince is also making a name for herself on the court for the Huskers at point guard after huge performances in recent road wins over Rutgers and 2024 NCAA runner-up Iowa.
