The Golden Globe winning film “Elle” opens Jan. 13 at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. “Jackie,” starring Natalie Portman, continues to show.

In “Elle,” Michèle seems indestructible. Head of a leading video game company, she brings the same ruthless attitude to her love life as to business. Being attacked in her home by an unknown assailant changes Michèle’s life forever. When she resolutely tracks the man down, they are both drawn into a curious and thrilling game - a game that may, at any moment, spiral out of control.

This film is rated R for violence involving sexual assault, disturbing sexual content, some grisly images, brief graphic nudity and language. “Elle” will be showing through Jan. 19.

Featuring Natalie Portman in the lead roll, “Jackie” is an intimate portrait of First Lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy in the days immediately following the assassination of her husband, Pres. John F. Kennedy. The film is a psychological portrait of the Jackie as she struggles to maintain her husbands legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created.

“Jackie” is rated R for brief strong violence and some language. Directed by Pablo Larrain, the film shows at the Ross through Jan. 26.
