Carlos Estrada has been selected as the new managing director of NMotion, an organization that guides startup founders through the critical stages of early company development. NMotion is supported by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development, Invest Nebraska, local companies and private investors.
As managing director, Estrada will recruit teams and guide them through NMotion’s 90-day accelerator program — preparing them to pitch to investors at the annual NMotion demo day. He previously served as a core mentor for NMotion, working closely with teams to hone their business strategy.
Estrada also will serve as entrepreneur-in-residence at NUtech Ventures, the commercialization affiliate of the university. In this role, he will contribute to university entrepreneurial and startup activities.
Estrada brings experience as an entrepreneur and startup company consultant. He is the founder of Oomph! Brand, a digital product consulting company, and co-founder of Unicornable, a corporate innovation consulting firm serving Fortune 1000 companies. He played key roles as a project manager and international facilitator for 3 Day Startup, an organization that supports entrepreneurial opportunities for universities, companies and governments worldwide.
Estrada has also served as a strategic business consultant for the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program and Nebraska Extension.
“We’re excited to welcome Carlos to NMotion as the managing director,” said Brad Roth, executive director of NUtech Ventures and president of the NMotion board of directors. “His experience in founding startups, leading entrepreneurial programs and developing teams makes him a great fit for this role.”
NMotion will begin recruiting teams in May for its 2018 cohort.
