Gingerbread house competition
Student Involvement will host a gingerbread house decorating competition from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Nebraska Union Ballroom. All supplies for the contest will be provided, and participation is free with a student NCard.
Railyard Ice Rink
Beginning Dec. 7, downtown Lincoln’s Railyard will be transformed into an outdoor ice skating rink! The annual holiday activity is open throughout the month of December and into January.
Admission to the rink is free. Skate rentals cost $5 for children and $10 for adults 12 and older.

Innovation Studio Maker Fair
Searching for a unique holiday gift? The university’s second-annual Nebraska Innovation Studio Maker Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7. Handcrafted items created by NIS makers, like wood and ceramic crafts, will be available for purchase.
Study hours and snacks
To help students get through finals, the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center's Kawasaki Reading Room is hosting special study hours throughout December. Huskers can visit room 302 from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Dec. 10, or 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 16, for coffee, tea, snacks and guaranteed quiet.
Hannah Huston concert
University of Nebraska–Lincoln alumna and former Voice contestant Hannah Huston will perform a Home for the Holidays concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Rococo Theatre, 140 N 13th Street. Huston will be joined in concert by Omaha's Salem Baptist Choir.
Big Red Singers performance
Nebraska's Big Red Singers will help close out the winter semester with a performance at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in Kimball Recital Hall. The show choir group performs high-energy, fully-choreographed shows of popular music and Broadway classics.
Tickets to the performance are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
