Fall course reserve deadline is Aug. 15

The UNL libraries offers faculty and graduate students the opportunity to put library books, journal articles, personal copies of books and other items on reserve for student use.

Reserve lists are processed in the order received and take one to four business days to be completed. Reserve lists turned in by Aug. 15 will have items processed by the first day of UNL’s fall semester. Reserve requests made after the deadline will be processed in the order received.

For more information about electronic reserves, go to http://libraries.unl.edu/reserve.

Books can be put on reserve and made available in all City and East campus libraries. Reserve requests for UNL libraries books can be made online at http://libraries.unl.edu/printform.

Personal copies of books will follow the same procedure as Library books. The libraries are not responsible for personal copies placed on reserve. Materials can be made available via electronic reserve at http://0-cors0812.unl.edu.library.unl.edu/ereserves. Materials that can be made available electronically include exams, lecture notes, student papers (which must be approved by the student), government publications, one article from a journal issue and one chapter from a book.

To ensure requests are processed in a timely manner: supply complete citations of materials; and, when requesting a personal copy of a book or other personal material, remember to include it with the request.

Materials placed on Electronic Reserve are accessible only to those affiliated with UNL. Photocopied materials consisting of two or more articles from a journal issue, or more than one chapter from a single book, must have copyright compliance, or meet the criteria under the fair use guidelines for classroom copying in not-for-profit educational institutions.

Reserve materials will be removed one week after the corresponding session has ended, unless the class is to be taught the following semester. Copyrighted items may not be renewed for consecutive semesters unless a letter of approval from the publisher is submitted.
