Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin, founders of media company theSkimm, will deliver the keynote address during the Nebraska Women’s Leadership Network fall conference at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 at Kimball Recital Hall.
For the first time, non-members of the network can attend the keynote session. Registration is here. The cost is $5 for students and $10 for the general public.
Weisberg and Zakin combined their expertise as NBC news producers to create theSkimm, a website and e-newsletter aimed at women that provide news in quick, witty bites.
The fall conference is Oct. 5-6, with a theme of “Storytelling and Leaving Your Mark on the World.” The registration deadline for the conference is Oct. 1. To register, click here.
The Nebraska Women’s Leadership Network, a program of the Nebraska Alumni Association, offers University of Nebraska-Lincoln alumnae and female students opportunities for professional growth, leadership development and mentoring. The network was launched in 1999 to promote the growth and education of women and to create a nationwide network of female leaders with ties to the university. To apply for membership, click here.
