Ken E. Nwadike Jr., founder of the Free Hugs Project, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Nebraska Union’s Centennial Room, 1400 R St.
Nwadike is a peace activist, motivational speaker and video journalist. The Free Hugs Project is a compilation of motivational videos on YouTube and Facebook meant to spread love, inspire change and raise awareness of social issues. The project was launched in 2014 in response to the Boston Marathon bombing and has gained popularity through Nwadike’s many appearances on TV news programs and radio broadcasts.
The event, sponsored by the University Program Council and OASIS, is free for University of Nebraska-Lincoln students with a valid NCard and $5 for faculty, staff and the public.
