Nebraska’s Eisentrager•Howard Gallery opens the 2019-20 season with an exhibition featuring 19 recent graduates.
The exhibition, “Fresh!,” includes artworks by local School of Art, Art History and Design alumni who graduated between 2010-19 with bachelor’s degrees in arts or fine arts, or Master of Fine Arts in studio art or graphic design.
The exhibition will be on display from Sept. 6-20 with an opening reception on First Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 6 in the Richards Hall gallery. The types of art on display include drawing, ceramics, paintings, printmaking, photography, digital media, sculpture and mixed media.
The goal of this show was to highlight emerging artists and designers who continue to further their practices and enrich the arts community in the Lincoln area. The exhibition was curated by Patricia Davis, director of the gallery.
“There was no set theme going into this process, but what was important is that none of these works have been shown in this space before — hence the use of ‘Fresh!,’” Davis said. “It’s exciting for me to think about how they will all come together in the space. Hopefully the works will spark juicy conversations.”
