University Libraries will host its next Genealogy Over Lunch session, “A Delta Gamma Guide: The Abbott Sisters,” at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 17 in Love Library South, Room 318. The talk is free and open to the public.
The session will feature Cathey Stuart McDermott and her research on the publication “A Delta Gamma Guide: The Abbott Sisters.” Edith and Grace Abbott were natives of Grand Island who worked for social justice and reform, specifically in the area of child labor laws. The talk will discuss the sisters’ lives, careers, and ties to Nebraska.
Genealogy Over Lunch is designed to help individuals explore and organize their family history and meets every third Thursday of the month. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch.
