University Libraries will host the next Genealogy Over Lunch session, ‘Reformatting Files: Let’s Talk About It,” at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 20 in Love Library South, Room 318. The talk is free and open to the public.
Genealogy Over Lunch is designed for individuals interested in exploring and organizing their family history. Any stage of genealogical research involves creating and collecting a large amount of digital files, and to ensure these files remain accessible, it’s important to consider reformatting them regularly.
Digital archivist Blake Graham will discuss at-risk and open file formats, as well as explain several techniques for reformatting common file types for longer accessibility.
Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch. For more information about the talk, contact Jennifer Conway at jconway4@unl.edu or 402-472-6987.
