A presale is being offered to University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, faculty and staff beginning April 5 for single tickets to the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton.”
The show will be at the Lied Center for Performing Arts Aug. 2-13.
The presale begins at 11 a.m. Faculty, staff, and students will be able to use the code UNLHAM23 when checking out online, by phone at 402-472-4747, or in-person at the box office, which is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tickets go on sale to the public on April 12.
There is a maximum purchase limit of eight tickets per household for the engagement. Prices range from $59 to $169, with a select number of premium seats available from $199. There will be a lottery for 40 $10 seats for all performances. Details will be announced closer to the engagement.
“It’s tempting to get tickets any way you can,” said producer Jeffrey Seller. “There are many sites and people who are selling overpriced and, in some cases, fraudulent tickets. For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases for the Lincoln, Nebraska, engagement should be made through liedcenter.org.”
“Hamilton” is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, the musical has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theater — a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education.
With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, “Hamilton” is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography. The musical has won Tony, Grammy and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
