International leadership and work strategist Tyler Waye will present a lecture, “The Future of Work,” at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 10 in the Ostergard Family Auditorium in the lower level of Howard L. Hawks Hall.
Hosted by the College of Business and College of Law as part of the Lewis E. Harris Lecture Series, the event is free and open to the public.
Waye spent the last decade investigating the emerging patterns of work that shape careers and organizations. A managing partner of Motiversity, the world’s largest motivational media group and co-founder of Mindset App, he shares his insights from a year of intensive research living in 12 countries to explore the future of work. He focuses on helping all people develop applicable skill sets, mindsets and competencies to navigate the changing nature of work.
“The Harris Lecture Series serves as an invaluable bridge between academia and the ever-evolving business landscape, offering a platform for students, faculty, professionals and the wider community to gain insight from distinguished experts,” said Laurie Miller, associate dean of undergraduate programs and curriculum and associate professor of practice in economics. “This year’s installment underscores the series’ commitment to fostering dialogues that shape the future of business, society and government in our rapidly changing world. This a must-attend event for all those seeking to navigate the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s workforce.”
With a Master of Arts in leadership, Waye wrote the book, “I Went to School That Long for This?” and co-founded YoungLeaders.World, a multinational youth leadership organization that has worked with over 25,000 people. In his role as an instructor in strategy, teamwork and change at the University of Alberta, his innovative methods and his pioneering thought leadership secured him a spot on Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40.
The Lewis E. Harris Lecture Series is sponsored by the Harris Family and GlaxoSmithKline.
