Husker broadcasters win seven awards in On-Location Creative Competition

Students from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications were awarded seven national audio awards in the Broadcast Education Association and College Broadcasters Inc.’s On-Location Creative Competition. 

Winners were recognized Oct. 25 during the CBI National Student Electronic Media Convention and BEA On-Location Conference in Denver. Each award category had four finalists from student media outlets nationwide. 

The college received two first-place awards, a second-place award, two third-place awards and two fourth-place awards. Student winners are listed under each award-winning project with their year in school or graduation date, major(s) and hometown.

Best Sports Play-By-Play, first place: “UNL Men’s Basketball vs. St. Mary’s, Nov. 17, 2024”

Best Podcast, second place: “Paranormal Inactivity-Log 2: The Phantom of the Bell Tower”
