Let’s face it — after a year of masking up and social distancing, we’re all a bit worn out.

That sense of fatigue, coupled with the news of more and more Americans being vaccinated against COVID-19, can make it tempting to let your guard down and toss out pandemic precautions.

Dr. Heather Eberspacher, medical director of the University Health Center, is reminding the Nebraska community to finish the semester strong.

“Despite an increase in vaccinations, COVID cases are spiking across the country,” Eberspacher said. “While following these rules can feel tiring, an end is in sight, and remaining vigilant will help us get back to normal as soon as possible.”

Huskers can do their part by following the three W’s and avoiding the three C’s, as outlined below:

Getting vaccinated is key to protecting not only yourself, but also others. Those not yet vaccinated can visit the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department website for updates as access expands. Members of the university community who are fully vaccinated are still required to wear a mask and practice social distancing on campus.
