Khaled AlSubaie, an international student from Saudi Arabia, holds up his bachelor's degree during the May 2019 commencement in Pinnacle Bank Arena. Due to COVID-19, recognition for international graduates will be held online.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s annual International Student Graduation Reception will be held online at 10 a.m. May 9. It follows the university’s Go Big Grad celebration, which begins at 9 a.m.

Hosted by the Office of Global Strategies and the Nebraska Alumni Association, the reception will celebrate the accomplishments of all international student graduates who have earned degrees since August 2019. This is the celebration’s fourth year.

Due to COVID-19 public health regulations and international travel restrictions, the event will be hosted on the International Student Graduation Reception website and also on the Global Nebraska Facebook page. Replays of the event will be made available.

Josh Davis, associate vice chancellor for global affairs, will lead the event. Remarks will be provided by Shelley Zaborowski, executive director of the Nebraska Alumni Association, with special messages offered by several faculty, staff and international partners.

Graduates will also have a chance to hear eight peers discuss their Husker journey, watch a photo montage submitted by graduates, and be recognized for their accomplishments.

The event is open to all international graduates, friends, family and the university community. Reception details are available online.
