The application period to serve on the university's International Welcome team is open through Feb. 21. Students can find the application on Handshake or the New Student Enrollment website.
Welcome Team members provide the peer support and local knowledge necessary to make new undergraduate students feel at home as Huskers from the moment they arrive in Nebraska. The team greets and assists new international students at the Lincoln airport, staff residence hall welcome desks and leads activities during International Orientation and International Welcome Week.
The best Welcome Team candidates are positive, motivated, and reliable. Team members must be full-time, degree-seeking students. Applicants with previous experience in mentoring, leadership, or cultural groups and a desire to help new international students adapt would make strong candidates.
Team members are paid hourly, and they can have another job during the semester.
