The Glenn Korff School of Music’s Undergraduate and the Graduate Jazz Combos will perform at 7:30 p.m., respectively, on April 11 and April 12 in the Westbrook Music Building, Room 119. Both performances are free and open to the public.
The Undergraduate Jazz Combos performance will feature three different ensembles April 11. Combo III, directed by Andrew Janak, will perform three pieces including “C-Jam Blues” by Duke Ellington. Combo II, also directed by Janak, will perform three pieces, including two by Wayne Shorter. Combo I, directed by Greg Simon, will perform four pieces including “Windows” by Chick Corea.
The graduate group – Andrew Janak, saxophone; Jesse McBee, trumpet; Chris Leach, trombone and piano; Eric Hitt, bass; and Mike Roe, drums – will perform some of Janak’s compositions including “Avant Garde Piece,” “Nostalgia at 11th and Q” and “AOE” on April 12.
The performance will also be live webcast the night of the performance.
