Jazz Orchestra to present 'The Way There'

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Jazz Orchestra performs.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Jazz Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 10 at First Plymouth Congregational Church, 2000 D St. The concert, "The Way There," is free and open to the public.

The program includes “Counter Block” by Thad Jones; “East L.A.” by Joe Gallardo; “Armageddon” by Wayne Shorter and arranged by Marcus Printup; “Ad Parnassum” by Jim McNeely; “Why Is That” by Jihye Lee; “Idioteque” by Thom Yorke, Colin Greenwood and Paul Lansky, arranged by Patty Darling; and “Facing East” by Marcus Lewis.

The jazz orchestra is the university’s showcase jazz organization and one of the Glenn Korff School of Music’s most visible performing groups. They under the direction of Greg Simon, associate professor of composition and area head for composition, history and theory.
