The retirement reception to celebrate the career of Sherri Jones, interim vice chancellor for research and innovation, will be 2-4 p.m. Nov. 15 in Carolyn Pope Edwards Hall Room 227. Remarks are planned for 3 p.m.
Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett announced Jones' retirement in an email on Oct. 17. Jennifer Nelson, current associate vice chancellor for research, centers and core facilities, will take over the role of vice chancellor on Nov. 15.
Jones will be continuing to serve part time as a senior research adviser to ease the transition.
