Seniors Preston Kotik of Hooper and Hannah-Kate Kinney of Omaha have been crowned homecoming royalty at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Kotik and Kinney, elected in an online vote of the student body Oct. 25 and 26, were crowned on the field at Memorial Stadium during halftime of the Oct. 28 Nebraska-Purdue football game.
Kotik is a biochemistry and political science major. He is president of the Interfraternity Council; a member of Mortar Board and the University Honors Advisory Board; a student intern in the Office of the Chancellor; and a Hands of Heartland volunteer. He is also involved with UPC Nebraska and the Pre-med Undergraduate Mentoring Program. He is the son of Michael and Haley Kotik.
Kinney is a journalism, and advertising and public relations major. She is a member of Chi Omega, Mortar Board and the University Honors Program; a College of Journalism and Mass Communications ambassador; a Clifton Strengths coach; and a New Student Enrollment orientation leader. She is also involved with Jacht Ad Agency, Nebraska Nightly and Husker Vision. She is the daughter of Jon and Jane Kinney.
