Lab offers language support to international students

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s weeklong, statewide celebration of its 150th anniversary opened Feb. 11.

Programs in English as a Second Language is offering an English as a Second Language Support Lab for international students and scholars who may need language-related support in their courses, reading and writing assignments.

The lab can also assist students with understanding homework or assigned projects from ESL or academic classes; understanding difficult reading passages from textbooks or other materials; brainstorming ideas for projects or formal essays; revising formal essays; incorporating and properly citing resources in formal essays; and improving grammar and vocabulary in assignments.

Lab sessions are offered via Zoom through May 6. The 30-minute sessions are 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays; 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays; 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays; 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursdays; and 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Fridays.
