The Lied Center for Performing Arts stage remains dark due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the venue remains committed to finding innovative ways to keep arts and entertainment going.

The Lied’s Music on the Move is a new summer concert series bringing live music to Lincoln residents on a bicycle-powered stage. The stage will travel through a different neighborhood from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturdays, beginning June 13. Residents are invited to dance on their balconies, porches or front yards while local artists perform. The concert series is presented in partnership with Red Rebel Media.

The Music on the Move schedule:

  • June 13: Orion Walsh — East Campus (starting at 35th and Holdredge streets)

  • June 20: Angie Kriz and PolkaToons — Eastridge (starting at Eastridge Drive and O Street)

  • June 27: Big Red Brass Quartet — Williamsburg (starting at 38th Street and Pine Lake Road)

  • July 4 — Independence Day; no show

  • July 11: Mike Semrad of The Bottle Tops — Northern Lights (starting at 80th and Holdredge streets)

  • July 18: Edem Soul Music — Near South (starting at 20th and D streets)

  • July 25: Myles Jasnowski and Jack Rodenburg — Indian Village (starting at 18th and Van Dorn streets)

While Music on the Move brings concerts directly to Lincoln neighborhoods, the Lied Live Online series continues to bring new virtual concerts into homes every Friday at 7:30 p.m. The June lineup features everything from brass to Broadway, bluegrass to soul, and a special show for young viewers. Concerts are available on the Lied Center Facebook page and at https://www.liedcenter.org.

The schedule for Lied Live Online is as follows. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

  • June 5: Hannah Huston — This Grand Island native was a Lincoln preschool teacher when her whole life changed with an audition for NBC’s “The Voice.” Her soul-inspired vocals took her all the way to the show’s finals, where she finished as second runner-up. Since then, Huston has been playing sold-out shows and releasing original music.

  • June 12: Nebraska Brass — This popular brass quintet is known for its musical precision and style, as well as its humorous commentary. The group has traveled the Midwest for the past three decades, performing an inventive mix of Dixieland, jazz and classical.
