The Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services will host the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Multicultural Homecoming celebration from 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 via Zoom. The event will mark 10 years of the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center and recognize the 2020 class of the university’s Multicultural Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame ceremony recognizes and celebrates individuals who embody inclusive excellence and sacrificially contribute to the Husker community. All award recipients have and continue to positively impact students and their respective communities.This ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate and honor their dedication and efforts.
Jay Warren-Teamer will be giving the keynote address at the ceremony. Warren-Teamer is an Omaha native who has spent her personal and professional life serving the community. She received her bachelor’s degree in child, youth and family studies from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and earned her master’s in public administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Warren-Teamer has worked in the non-profit/philanthropic sector for most of her career, with previous roles at Partnership 4 Kids and United Way of the Midlands. Most recently, she’s worked as the Community Affairs Coordinator for Mutual of Omaha where she oversaw the employee giving efforts of the company and supported the Mutual of Omaha Foundation.
In August, Warren-Teamer was appointed director of diversity and inclusion at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, where she directs and develops the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and programs.
