N150 Commission's report available for review

Nebraska's original charter was created nearly 150 years ago on Feb. 15, 1869. As part of the university's 150th anniversary celebration in 2019, campus leadership is examining what the institution should look like in the next 25 years.

Answering the call of Chancellor Ronnie Green, the Nebraska 150 Commission has released an aspirational report on what the University of Nebraska–Lincoln should be by the year 2044.

The commission included more than 150 students, faculty, staff, alumni and stakeholders, including a 25-member executive committee. The project was led by Donde Plowman, executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer, and Will Thomas, professor of history.

The report provided the foundation for Green’s State of the University address and was made available for public review on Jan. 15.

In February, Green will call for an N150 Strategy Team to further develop a five-year implementation of the commission’s report. The refined plan will be presented to the campus community and put into place before the next State of the University address in February 2020.
