The College of Journalism and Mass Communications is hosting the national Mobile Me and You 2018 Conference Oct. 26-27. The conference is focused on new ideas and best practices for mobile media.
Early-bird registration is $95 for professionals, $60 for faculty and staff and $10 for students. Registration is available online.
Faculty, staff and students will learn from experts at The Washington Post, CNN, Univision, Big 10 Network, Verizon, Quartz and others. Sessions will explore how to use technologies such as bots, drones, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, 360-degree video, block chain verification and crypto-currency payments.
University of Nebraska–Lincoln communication staff who register for the conference will receive free admission to a hands-on mobile media workshop, 3 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in Andersen Hall.
Speakers will discuss creating virtual reality video on social media, using mobile media to engage the Big 10 audience, making simple bots in an hour, using mobile media for spatial and place-based journalism, reaching Hispanic audiences, using the latest mobile video and editing tools, discovering fake news and mobile video manipulation and creating new stories with drones.
