Are you a employee eager to make a tangible impact on the culture of community and belonging at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln? Organizational Development and Training is now seeking colleagues to step forward as Anchors for the spring 2026 NCLUDE Learning Groups.

NCLUDE Learning Groups are peer-led initiatives that transform shared interests into deep, meaningful conversations. If you have a passion you can share, you have the power to help us elevate knowledge and foster connection across campus.

Learning groups can cover a variety of topics, and to see how powerful these groups can be, look no further than this semester’s overwhelming demand for "Knitting for Mindfulness." This group, led by Anchor Colleen Kadleck, filled instantly, showcasing a real need for community belonging with personal well-being.

Over lunch, participants use the simple, repetitive act of knitting to explore themes of patience, focus and calm. The group’s success comes from its ability to use a hands-on activity to create a supportive community.

The Mindful Knitting group is a perfect example that your NCLUDE topic doesn't need to be traditional. If it sparks dialogue and fosters a sense of belonging, it's a perfect fit. We encourage creativity and diversity in all offerings, from book discussions to practical exchanges and shared interests.

As an NCLUDE Anchor, you will:

  • Select a Topic that aligns with community building at the university
  • Set the Schedule (6 sessions over the course of the semester).
  • Guide the Discussions to cultivate community and shared learning.
  • Anchor Timeline: Group registration until Dec. 15, Anchor training the month of January and group meetings begin in February 2026.
