Matthew “Matt” Carl Kutscher, 54, of Lincoln, an academic technology specialist with the College of Education and Human Sciences, died Feb. 4.
Kutscher served in a variety of roles during his 25 years in the college, starting as an undergraduate student employee assisting with information technology needs in teaching, learning and teacher education courses.
He worked in his current role since 2015, providing instructional and informational technology assistance to the college by supporting classrooms and computer labs, and consulting with instructors on the use of technology in the classroom.
Kutscher enjoyed learning, teaching new technologies, and helping instructors and students succeed. His passion for helping others was captured in a Nov. 25, 2019 KOLN/KGIN story regarding how he helped fellow patients while he recovered from brain surgery.
Kutscher was born Dec. 16, 1967 to Kenneth and Jean Kutscher. His wife, Wendy Buettow, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his parents; siblings, Brian Kutscher, Tracy (Heidi) Kutscher, Carman (Roscoe) Dockham; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends.
A celebration of life was held Feb. 8 at First-Plymouth Congregational Church.
