Nebraska’s Office of Sustainability will collect electronics for recycling from 4 to 6 p.m. April 22 and 23 at the 19th and Y Street parking lot.
Acceptable items to recycle include laptops, iPads, phones, cables, keyboards, computer mice, DVD/VCR/CD players, headphones, speakers, radios, printers and televisions.
There is no charge to drop off most items. For televisions, $1 per inch of the screen’s diagonal width will be charged.
Light bulbs and tubes, ballasts containing PCBs, smart boards and alkaline batteries will not be accepted.
The Office of Sustainability is hosting the recycling event in partnership with American Recycling and the Environmental Leadership Program of the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska.
All electronics collected at the events will be processed by American Recycling at their facility. All digital data will be completely destroyed.
