The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is offering a five-week class on the Olympic Games.
The course, which starts Oct. 25, will explore how Olympic events and traditions have evolved and changed over time. Topics will cover the games’ 1896 beginning in Athens, Greece, to the recent summer games in Rio de Janeiro.
Presenters will include Charlie Green, a former Husker athlete and two-time medal winner from the 1968 Olympics. Other speakers will include Olympic athletes, coaches who have prepared American athletes, fans and others who have participated in the games.
The course will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 29, in the Nebraska Union Auditorium. Cost is $25. Registration is required and available online or by calling 402-472-6265.
