Peppermint, an American actress, singer, reality television personality, drag queen and transgender activist, will speak about her experiences from 8 to 10 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Coliseum. The talk is free and open to the public.
Peppermint is best known as a fixture in the New York City nightlife scene and runner-up on the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. On her activism, she once stated that “women have always been directly and indirectly contributing to the art form of drag. Like voting, driving, working, even eventually the Office of President of United States, drag evolves. My hope is that together, we can uplift all forms of drag, both on TV, and in the real world.”
At the event, she will make a brief speech related to her activism and then conduct an extensive question-and-answer session with audience members. Those attending are encouraged to come prepared with questions and engage in a dialogue about her activism and drag experiences.
The event is sponsored by the Residence Life’s Multicultural Awareness and Diversity Education program.
