The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Percussion Ensemble presents “Burn,” a virtuosic display of percussive pyrotechnics inspired by fire, at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 6, in Kimball Recital Hall.
The concert will feature multimedia and interdisciplinary elements, including video projection, electro-acoustic works and a collaboration with Susan Levine Ourada and the university’s dance program. Selections include “Blue Burn” by Joseph Tompkins, “Bitsmoke” by Casey Farina, “Aura” by Anna Thorvaldsdottir, “Pillar IV” by Andy Akiho, “Torched and Wrecked” by David Skidmore, “Fratres” by Arvo Pärt, and “Pyroclastic Steam” composed by Dave Hall, assistant professor of music.
Tickets, which are available at the door, are $5 general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens. The performance will also be available live online.
