Lincoln’s Community Piano Experience, a group piano class offered as an outreach of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music piano pedagogy program, will be offered in the fall, hosted in the new Westbrook Music Building.

This program provides group piano classes focused on developing essential music reading and piano-playing skills. Tailored for adults, the program offers classes at both beginning and intermediate levels.

Cristina Vlad Hayes is in her second year of teaching and coordinating the Lincoln CPE program and will guide students through their musical journey.

The two classes offered include:

  • Beginning Class: For those new to piano or needing a refresher from childhood lessons. Held Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. in Westbrook from Sept. 16-Dec. 9 (no class Oct. 21 or Nov. 25).
  • Intermediate Class: For students with some piano and music reading skills. Held Thursday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. in Westbrook from Sept. 18-Dec. 11 (no class Nov. 20 or 27).

The class costs $195, which includes 11 weeks of group lessons, a textbook and all additional materials.

Registration for the beginning and intermediate courses are online. The deadline to enroll is Sept. 8.
