Printmaker to close out 2018 visiting artist lectures

Printmaker Lynne Avadenka will present the final 2018 Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in Richards Hall, Room 15. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Avadenka, who received a Master of Fine Arts from Wayne State University, creates multimedia work informed by explorations of text, image and the Jewish experience. She received a Kresge Fellowship in 2009 and in 2013 was named director of Signal-Return, a Detroit nonprofit letterpress print shop and community arts center.

Her work is exhibited and collected internationally at Israel Museum in Jerusalem; Hague in the Netherlands; and British Library in London. Her creations are also featured in the Library of Congress, New York Public Library, and Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
