Organizational Development and Training is offering three upcoming professional development opportunities in March. These NSPIRE and NRICH sessions are collaborative spaces designed for learning from experts and from each other. 

Whether you are looking to influence your team, navigate complex projects or master the latest tech, these interactive sessions are designed to help build a stronger, more connected Husker community.

NSPIRE: Coaching to Empower Employees | 2 to 4:30 p.m. March 4, Nebraska Union, Chimney Rock Room: Being a supervisor is about more than managing tasks—it’s about championing people. Join your fellow supervisors for an energetic, hands-on session designed to equip you with essential coaching skills. You’ll practice strategies to inspire growth and walk away with practical tools to help your team reach their full potential, fostering a culture of continuous improvement right here at Nebraska.

NRICH: How to Influence without Authority | 2 to 4 pm. March 12, Nebraska Union, Chimney Rock Room: In a university setting, collaboration often matters more than a title. We are excited to welcome Marthaellen Florence from Leadership Lincoln to help us unlock the secrets of "soft power." Come explore how your unique expertise and relationships can move the needle on big projects. Participants will learn how to navigate complex working relationships and lead change effectively, even without positional authority using frameworks like the Influence Model.

NRICH: AI Advantage | 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 18, Zoom: Let’s work smarter, not harder! Mel Sedlacek from Child, Youth and Family Studies is hosting a virtual session to help you turn AI from a novelty into a real work partner. This session moves beyond the basics to share advanced prompt strategies and workflows that actually save you time and reduce mental load in your daily administrative tasks.
