The ninth Nebraska Football Road Race, an annual event to raise awareness and funds for pediatric brain cancer, will take place June 20. It is being held on Father’s Day to honor Andy Hoffman, a champion in the fight against pediatric brain cancer who died in March.
The in-person event includes a 1-mile fun run and competitive 5-kilometer race, both of which begin and end in front of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s iconic Memorial Stadium. Races are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Registration, due by June 19, is available online.
Cost is $25 for the 1-mile run and $30 for the 5K. Registrations submitted after June 19 cost $35 and $40, respectively. Registration on the day of the event will be $45 and $50, respectively. All registered participants will receive a T-shirt, bracelet and the chance to safely interact with the Husker football team. The first 1,000 registrants will receive an invitation to attend a closed football practice in late August.
All proceeds will benefit families facing pediatric brain cancer through the Fred and Pamela Buffet Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
