This semester’s Inclusive Leadership Retreat, open to all students, will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Willa Cather Dining Complex.
Inclusive Leadership Retreats are designed to help students think deeply about how to lead inclusively and to take on leadership roles — in the classroom, in university clubs or organizations, and in their communities. This year’s retreat will be held Nov. 10.
Through small group activities, guided reflections and interactive discussions, these retreats increase participants’ awareness of what it means to be an inclusive leader, promote confidence in facilitating conversations about inclusion and diversity, and help build connections to other student, staff and faculty leaders on campus.
Students who participate in this retreat are prepared to apply for university leadership positions, including peer mentors and consultants, RSO positions, NSE leaders, resident assistants and college and research ambassadors. Participants are also certified to serve as facilitators for Husker Dialogues, a campus event for first-year students held each fall.
Registration for the retreat ends Nov. 7. For questions about the event, contact Charlie Foster, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs, at cfoster2@unl.edu.
