The Women Entrepreneurs Conference will be March 17-18 at the Courtyard by Marriott, 808 R. St. The goal of the conference is to empower women entrepreneurs to be catalysts of change in rural America.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from informative speakers and to build a mentor network of inspiring women leaders who can guide young entrepreneurs in business and community initiatives. A special emphasis will be placed on agricultural business.
“Our mission is to empower enterprise builders and we hope this event enhances the confidence of all of our students to pursue the opportunity that comes with business ownership,” said Tom Field, director of the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program.
Featured speakers include Connie Reimers-Hild, associate executive director of the Rural Futures Institute at the University of Nebraska; Rita Rocker, communications and image specialist and career consultant with Transformation Academy; and Jeanne Bernick, agriculture consultant and business specialist for national accounting and finance firm K·Coe Isom.
Registration is requested in advance of the conference. The registration fee, which includes meals, is $40 for the public and $20 for students. The conference is open to men and women.
